The UCBC academic year is coming to a close. Classes are ending. Reading and exam weeks begin next week, and students graduate July 30. There is truth in the cliché, “Time flies!”
It’s Saturday of Thanksgiving week. Advent begins tomorrow. I’m enjoying the birds and lovely breeze as I sit in the garden of the house where I currently live. The three weeks since I returned to Beni have been full and demanding. They have also been full of challenges and blessings. It seems that many of the challenges hold hands with blessings. Let me share just two.
The wind brushes yellow and orange leaves across the central Ohio sky. By the time the trees have emptied their arms to stand bare for the winter, I'll be headed to Beni and UCBC to assume a new set of responsibilities and title: Director of Faculty Development and Bilingual Affairs.
This Saturday, May 16, a 9-person team of students, staff, and teachers leave Beni on a 2-day road trip to Kenya.
