“We have sad news. Papa Manassé has died.” It was the voice of colleague and friend, Bora Innocent, calling just as my housemates and I were ready to sit down to dinner.
Manassé Mbusa, brother, friend, pastor, teacher, husband, and father was dead. After almost three years of increasing pain and suffering and numerous medical treatments, he was relieved and released into the arms of his Savior, the God of peace and mercy.
Within three hours of the news, more than 200-300 people gathered at Manassé and Kavira's home to sit in vigil with the family and each other. Today we gather for services at UCBC and at the church.
There is more to write. More to share. For now we remember our dear friend and brother, Manassé.
